Christ was the longing of all the Old and New Testament saints. Our greatest needs are met in Him, and our highest joys are found in Him. Like the apostles, we must keep Christ central in doctrine and practice, for Christ is the highest revelation of God to humanity and the clearest revelation of humanity to God. This course delves into the great mystery of the God-man, Jesus Christ. The students will explore the wonder of Christ’s preexistence, incarnation, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and return.

Course objectives:

• To fascinate the heart by beholding the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus
• To study the splendor of the person and meaning of the work of Jesus
• To understand and articulate the mystery of the incarnation, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and second coming of Christ
• To identify key historic doctrines and errors concerning the person and work of the Son
• To grow in love with the Lord Jesus Christ and embrace a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and contemplation

About Allen Hood

Allen Hood (MDiv, Asbury Theological Seminary) has been serving on the leadership team of the International House of Prayer since 2000. He served as the President of the International House of Prayer University from 2003–2016 and currently serves as the Associate Director of the IHOPKC Missions Base and as the Executive Pastor of Forerunner Church, IHOPKC’s church expression. Allen is an intercessory missionary called to partner in fulfilling the Great Commission by advancing 24/7 prayer and worship in every tribe and tongue and by proclaiming the beauty of Jesus and His glorious return. His highest joy is to see the Church manifesting the fullness of Christ’s life in the nations. Allen resides in Kansas City with his wife, Rachel, and their three sons.
