There was a time when it was thought that knowledge was enough—books and classes, facts and figures, chord charts and musical notes—but the fire in God’s heart can’t be confined to a classroom.
In today’s world, where things are changing rapidly and new threats and challenges arise, a deeper level of encounter is needed.
Knowledge alone—information, skills, and even memorized Scriptures—won’t be enough without deep, personal knowledge of the Man Christ Jesus, who is on the throne and coming back soon to rule the earth (Psalm 2:6–9).
In preparation for that day, International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) is training up messengers who will help carry the knowledge of God to every tribe, tongue, and nation, labor in the Church, and win the lost.
Through its schools of ministry, music, and media, IHOPU offers a unique blend of practical instruction coupled with intimate encounter with Jesus in the place of prayer. Instruction flows from, and redirects the learner back into, worship and prayer, helping students cultivate their life in God.
It’s our belief that what the Church needs most is leaders who are grounded in intimacy with Christ, live a life of prayer, and carry sound knowledge of His Word as they partner with what the Lord is doing in this unique generation.
IHOPU trains nearly 1,000 students and interns per year, and its graduates serve as pastors, teachers, house of prayer directors, worship leaders, musicians, singers, media messengers, and frontier missionaries in every developed continent on the earth.
From Kansas City, students pursue mission trips and externships in the U.S. and internationally, and regularly touch the nations through our 24/7 prayer room, which is streamed online to 200 countries.
“I truly believe IHOPU graduates will help lead the charge in establishing 24/7 prayer in every tribe and tongue, and will boldly and tenderly proclaim the beauty of Jesus for the saving of thousands of souls and the maturing of the Church before the Lord’s return,” says school president Allen Hood.
At this key hour of history, the Lord is calling a generation to encounter Him and His love, get equipped, and do His works until He returns. If you desire theological training to serve as a pastor, teacher, worship leader, to serve through your skills in media—or simply to draw closer to the Lord—then we invite you to consider IHOPU.
Now through the end of April, we are waiving the $50 application fee, and will also award two $1,000 scholarships to anyone who applies during the month of April.
Be part of what the Lord is doing in this generation.
