What is the Prayer Room?

The IHOPKC prayer room is a sanctuary of corporate worship and intercession, staffed by prayer leaders, singers, musicians and worship leaders who serve as missionaries. The prayer room exists to partner in the Great Commission by advancing 24/7 prayer with worship and proclaiming the beauty of Jesus and His glorious return. We segment our 24-hour schedule into twelve worship-based prayer meetings, each lasting two hours.

As worship songs are joined with intercession, great spiritual benefits are released. Prayer joined with anointed music unlocks a unique part of our heart. Moreover, it helps to unify intercessors.

We aim to encourage, teach, and equip children, teens, and young adults to be devoted disciples of Jesus. Our desire is to see them enjoy deep fellowship with God as they grow in the knowledge of Him.

 
WHO WE ARE
How It All Began

On a crisp day in the fall of 1999, a small, ragtag, band of worshipers and intercessors gave themselves to a ridiculous, beautiful dream. Hour by hour, day after day, sometimes in an empty room, men and women, young and old, all races, began to gather with a vision as simple in its essence as it was extraordinary in its scope: unceasing prayer with worship.

“We will give everything!” they said, “Even every hour of life itself—day and night!—to declare the supreme worth of Jesus to a jaded and unbelieving generation.” It was crazy, it was lavish, it was foolish. And it was totally worth it. In the grace of God, this mission has spread across nations and continents, and will never, ever change until Jesus returns.
